Paterson Resources has appointed DDH1 Drilling to burrow into high-grade intercepts and large conceptual targets at the company’s Grace project near Newcrest Mining’s world-class Telfer mine in Western Australia.

The ASX-listed explorer said today historic drilling at the site produced excellent but unpursued near-surface high-grade gold mineralisation, just 25 kilometres from the 32 million ounce gold and 1 million tonne copper Telfer mine and 40km northwest of the Paterson Province’s Havieron gold deposit.

In late trade today, the company’s ASX-listed shares were up almost 10 per cent at 5c.

Paterson is focused on the exploration and development of gold and copper exploration projects located in world-class mineral provinces in WA’s Goldfields and Pilbara and four contiguous exploration licences located in New South Wale’s East Lachlan Fold Belt.

The current infill drilling at Grace will follow up historic drilling carried out by Newmont Australia and Newcrest

The company will also rely on high-impact targets identified from recent geophysical surveying and infill significant gaps between known mineralisation previously intersected in the  Grace and Bemm Shear Zones.
