Maximus Resources Limited has identified several electromagnetic conductors suggesting “a Kambalda-style” nickel discovery at its Hilditch West target just down the road from BHP’s nickel operations in Kambalda.
The ground-based electromagnetic survey detected shallow conductors up to 9,000 Siemens conductance, along strike from, and below recent nickel, copper and cobalt interactions, with strong magnetic responses suggesting a setting consistent with other significant finds in the area.
It is good news for the Kambalda focused gold and nickel explorer, coming just a little over a week after the company reported drilling results that highlighted good grades and of nickel, copper, cobalt mineralisation along 750 metre-strike.
“The company is excited to share the EM survey results, further reinforcing the very encouraging nickel-copper-cobalt drill intersections at Hilditch West,” managing director Tim Wither said.
“Hilditch West is an exciting target in Maximus’ evolving nickel exploration programme, and we are looking forward to commencing a diamond drill programme at Hilditch West later this quarter.”
The company’s Australian Stock Exchange-listed shares had lifted 5.71 per cent in early trade, trading at 7.4c (10.08 GMT +8 hours).
