Brookside Energy Limited has commenced priming its first oil well in the US state of Oklahoma ahead of firing up production next month.

With the multi-stage simulation of its high impact Jewell Well completed, the company is already underway while maintaining an eye on its next Rangers Well as part of its 5-year, 20-plus well development schedule in the world-class Anadarko Basin.

The work carried out by Liberty Oilfield services on time and without incident will lead to the final overall completion operations expected to finish ahead of the rig coming online in September.

“We are very pleased that this critical part of the completion of the Jewell Well has been successfully executed by the Liberty crew under the supervision of the Black Mesa team and our specialist contractors,” managing director David Prentice said.

“Effectively treating each stage as designed is obviously a very important step in the process of bringing this well into production.

“We now have all of the surface production equipment in place, and the line to DCP has been completed, and we are ready to remove the isolation plugs and clean up the well before commencing flow back – it is a very exciting time for everyone involved, and we look forward to keeping our shareholders updated.”

The company’s Australian Stock Exchange-listed shares were trading today at 2.9c (11:12 am GMT+ 8 hours).
