Marmota Limited is resuming rapid exploration of its emerging Aurora Tank gold project near the million-plus ounce Challenger Gold Mine in South Australia’s Woomera Prohibited Defence Area.
The SA-based multi-commodity explorer, which is also advancing copper and in-demand uranium projects, is at the early stage of development at the site, boasting consistently high grades as high as 101 grammes per tonne of gold.
Following a delay last month, a replacement crew with new equipment has resumed diamond drilling at pace, ahead of access to the site temporarily restricted due to closure at Woomera in two weeks.
The company said an extensive reverse circulation program at the site, including the coverage of any missed holes, will follow when access resumes.
“Marmota has acted with amazing speed and has been most fortunate to lock in a suitable diamond rig at such short notice to complete the program, especially during state border closures,” chairman Dr Colin Rose said.
“We are extremely grateful to the drill team for mobilising so quickly to site from Mildura, and to the South Australian Government and SA Health for expediting the necessary border clearances, and which also reflect the advantages of working on a remote site in today’s world.”
Marmota plans to provide regular updates on its progress to the market.
The company’s Australian Stock Market-listed was 4.8c today (11:53 am GMT+ 8 hours).
