Infinity sets sights on the Pilbara

ASX: IMI

Infinity Mining will target nine of the highest priority sites following state-of-the-art aerial surveying sorting the most prospective copper-gold drilling locations at the Hillside gold project nested within the base and precious metal-rich Pilbara region of Western Australia.

Hillside makes up four of nine exploration licenses covering an area of almost 700 square kilometres considered prospective for base metals, battery minerals and gold.

The tenements within the East Pilbara Granite-Greenstone Terrane of the Pilbara Craton are characterised by large granitic complexes flanked by greenstone belts comprised of steeply-dipping sequences of volcano-sedimentary rocks.

Results from tests conducted last year built confidence in the area, with soil samples returning up to 380 parts per million copper and 1009 ppm nickel, revealing the potential for massive sulphide accumulations of copper, nickel and gold.

Further rock chip testing revealed the site’s potential for gold, with samples returning up to 30.25 ppm.

The company said due diligence and comprehensive exploration to dated warranted a move to the next stage of the project,

“This next planned Hillside drilling program will be the best chance of identifying and testing what we believe are strong copper-nickel sulphide targets,” chief executive Joe Groot said.

The company plans to begin drilling before the end of the year.

IMI’s Australian Stock Exchange-listed price was trading at 13c today (1. 35 pm UTC+ 8 hours).
