ASX: IMI

Infinity Mining are ready to fire up the rig for maiden drilling over the Tambourah South lithium project in Western Australia’s east Pilbara region having received its tick of approval for programme of works.

Tambourah is believed to host a spodumene-rich lithium system and has surface pegmatites up to 30 metres wide earmarked as the priority targets.

The 2500-meter campaign has been building up with rock chip sampling and surface mapping building providing evidence for a system resting in the 15.92 square kilometre tenement, which holds additional promise of gold, copper, and nickel.

The company said with all in place, it could begin testing for deeper lithium mineralisation.

“The combination of assay rock sample results and the planned drilling program have the potential to significantly enhance this project both in terms of scale and productivity,” chief executive Joe Groot said.

Drilling will follow the return of 200 rock chip samples Infinity are looking to fast track through the laboratory.

IMI’s Australian Stock Exchange-listed share price was trading at 14c today (1:17pm UTC+ 8 hours).
