Coda Minerals take aim at Emmie

18 August 2022 11:41
ASX: COD

Final assays from Coda Minerals’ Emmie prospect revealed three new major conduits, including two distinct bornite zones and lateral continuity with classic iron ore, copper and gold sulphide zonation lying beyond in South Australia’s IOCG-famed Gawler Craton.

An updated geological model now provides key opportunities to extend along strike at the trio and unveil further discoveries.

Assays demonstrated significant thickness at high grades, including 42 metres at 1.2 per cent copper and 27 metres at 2.0 per cent for 69 metres of mineralisation in a single hole.

The company said even among the eclectic Eastern Gawler deposits, Emmie stood out as unique.

“The work that Coda has completed to date clearly demonstrates that a significant copper and gold system exists at Emmie IOCG that represents an outstanding exploration target,” said Coda Minerals chief executive Chris Stevens.

“Although work to date is still at a very early stage, we’re gaining an increasing understanding of the geology and structure of mineralisation at Emmie IOCG, and we remain strongly optimistic about its exploration potential.”

Coda will waste no time in following up, already planning an Acoustic Noise Tomography survey expected to take place in December.

COD’s Australian Stock Exchange-listed share price was trading at 39c today (11:41am UTC+ 8 hours).
