Infinity show Tambourah’s battery boon

ASX: IMI

Infinity Mining have returned grades of lithium oxide as high as 2.635 per cent and confirmed multiple stacked lithium-bearing pegmatites from the first field rock sampling program over its Tambourah south tenement in the east Pilbara region of Western Australia.

After getting the greenlight for maiden drilling, the explorer fast tracked its samples through the lab the samples and it only took a day for the upcoming campaign to further grow in promise for a spodumene-rich lithium system.

Half a dozen results came back exceeding two per cent lithium, while high returns of rubidium and cesium confirmed a highly fractionated pegmatite with fertile LCT chemistry.

The company said the favourable chemistry provides the impetus for further rare earth analysis.

“This consistency of grade is encouraging given the currently mapped pegmatites cover a large part of the western side of the tenement,” chief executive Joe Groot said.

“Ongoing sampling and drilling will determine the commercial potential for this lithium, rubidium mineralised system.”

With its Programme of Works in place, Infinity plan preparatory earthworks ahead of drilling with mapping and sampling works ongoing.

IMI’s Australian Stock Exchange-listed share price is trading at 16c (11.58am UTC+ 8 hours).
