Kavango confirm Kalahari targets

Kavango Resources have confirmed two major targets at its Kalahari Copper Belt Project from its large scale and high-resolution sampling program in Botswana.

The targets comprise a combined 35 kilometres of strike length and have displayed anomalous copper values up to 118 parts per million.

With a strong indication of in-situ mineralisation, the geochemical anomalies conform with underlying geology for the project, which stands as a potential analogue to the nearby Banana Zone deposit and its high-grade 55.8Mt copper-silver resource.

Two linear anomalies of over 30ppm copper identified on PL082.

The company said the copper values were a significant return for project’s prospectivity.

“These results, combined with the mapped geology and the existing Kavango AEM data, has enabled us to identify two targets of considerable strike length to test with drilling — our targets have notable similarities with other recently drilled targets in this area,” chief executive Ben Turney said.

With key team members on the ground in Botswana, Kavango is meeting with drill contractors ahead the project’s maiden drill campaign.

KAV’s London Stock Exchange-listed share price is currently trading at 1.74 British pence (3.14pm UTC+8 hours).
