Uranium drilling in Wyoming

With two rigs on site, GTI Energy’s drilling at the Thor uranium project in Wyoming’s Great Divide Basin is moving at pace, with the first 25 of a 70 hole campaign wrapped up in the equality state.

Results have come back strong, 17 of the new holes have hit or surpassed a target grade of 200 parts per million triuranium octoxide, with mineralisation conducive to an easily recovered in-situ resource.

Drilling also revealed 1830 feet of new mineralised roll fronts, bringing Thor’s total to 19,470 feet and building confidence in at least three separate mineralised roll fronts present in the main host sands.

The company said first results had already justified the follow up campaign.

“The historical drill maps combined with interpretation from our previous drilling have generated a high strike rate,” executive director Bruce Lane said.

“We look forward to continuing exploration over the coming weeks and months when conditions for US domestic uranium, particularly in Wyoming, continue to strengthen.”

Drilling at Thor is expected to finish in under 20 days, after which the rigs will make their way to one of four other GTI holdings in uranium-enriched Wyoming territory.

GTR’s Australian Stock Exchange-listed share price has risen 5.88 per cent today, currently trading at 1.8c (1:25 pm UTC+ 8 hours).
