Allup’s Solar Silica

11 October 2022 12:35
ASX: APS

Following improvements in its process circuit design, Allup Silica has been able to achieve a premium purity average of 84 parts per million iron oxide across all tests of its Sparkler project silica in Western Australia.

The average is well below the 100ppm premium specification required for the prime solar panel market.

The redesigned process circuit was likewise able to deliver high-grade silicon dioxide, returning between 99.7 and 99.8 per cent, and all tests returned excellent recovery yields exceeding 96 per cent.

The company said results indicated it had the right projects and the high-purity sands to start with.

“Being able to achieve the high purity specs required for the manufacture of PV cells means we are on track, and we look forward to being able to supply samples to potential customers as we progress to development on our Sparkler Project,” chairperson Andrew Haythorpe said.

Allup will continue to refine the process circuit to achieve its ultimate goal of consistently achieving purity of below 100ppm iron oxide across all projects.

APS’ Australian Stock Exchange-listed share price is trading at 9c today (10:48 am UTC+ 8 hours).
