Future Metals bring the rig to Panton

ASX: FME

Future Metals have the diamond drill rig on site to begin an exploration campaign for nickel-copper-platinum group sulphide accumulations at its wholly owned Panton project in the northern reaches of Western Australia.

It is the next great step forward for the project after its global scale upgrade to a 6.9-million-ounce palladium equivalent resource.

The June upgrade had already swollen Panton’s contained nickel by 526 per cent and exploration has since highlighted the prospectivity for a major Ni-Cu-PGE sulphide discovery.

The company said additional targets were expected to be revealed over the coming weeks.

“A number of high-quality targets have already been generated from the review of historical data and the ground EM survey currently underway, with the diamond drill rig set to start testing these in the coming days,” managing director and chief executive Jardee Kininmonth said

Drilling is expected to run late into the year, while an electromagnetic survey progresses across the Lower Zone to identify any strong conductors across the basal contact and in the Keel Zone.

FME’s Australian Stock Exchange-listed share price was trading at 12c today (9.52 am UTC+8 hours).
