Great Northern’s Golden Cup runneth over

26 October 2022 10:20

Great Northern Minerals drilling results have returned showing a total of 11 holes, consistently mineralised from 35 metres, with multiple instances of high-grade gold up to 14.3 grams per tonne from the Golden Cup deposit in northern Queensland.

With high grades in multiple instances, the assays prove that the deposit continues to lie open at depth.

Following the sale of its Big Rush gold project, Great Northern will have both the cash and commitment to build up at Camel Creek, having already delivered 202,000 ounces of gold and 9000 tonnes of antimony from the initial resource update — marking a 111 per cent increase of contained gold.

The company said with Golden Cup drilling completed, its gaze would shift to the Douglas Creek discovery, where three recently defined zones hold extensive and high-grade gold mineralisation.

“The consistent gold intercepts follow natural extension of historical pits,” managing director Cameron McLean said.

“With this phase of drilling at Golden Cup complete, we turn our attention to drilling our exciting Douglas Creek target.”

With review ongoing, Great Northern plan its’ follow up program to boot up in 2023.
