Tombola hauling to production

28 October 2022 11:13
ASX: TBA

Tombola Gold has begun haulage from its Comstock and Shamrock pits in the Golden Mile, headed for the Great Australian Mine plant to be processed next month.

It will begin with an initial delivery of 90,000 tonnes, ongoing seven days a week to maintain the feed, with the first trucks completing the 54 kilometre journey from Mt Freda to the Great Australia Mine plant.

With the first gold pour, it will mark the former explorer’s beginnings as a meaningful Australian gold producer.

The company has leased the GAM plant for an initial period of six months to fast-track gold production while its own processing facilities at the open-cut Lorena gold and copper mine are refurbished.

The company said it had laid its foundation over the past year and is positioned to hit the ground running in 2023.

“Today marks a significant milestone for Tombola — as we remain on track for the first gold pour in November 2022,” managing director Byron Miles said.

“I have to thank our team for working tirelessly over the last 8 months, putting Tombola in a great position to become a significant Australian gold producer in the coming weeks.”

TBA’s Australian Stock Exchange-listed share price was trading at 2.9c today (10.07 am UTC+ 8 hours).
