Infinity Mining begin lithium drilling at Tambourah South

Infinity Mining have kicked off its long-anticipated drilling campaign at Tambourah South, with a 2500-metre RC campaign hitting lithium-bearing pegmatite bodies across the Pilbara project.

Drilling begins after the widespread return of high grades up to 2.635 per cent lithium oxide.

The pegmatite bodies give Infinity 2.6 kilometres of strike for drilling, which will test the width and depth extent of pegmatite bodies and potential for blind repetitions at depth.

Exploration has also uncovered Tambourah South’s significant rubidium potential, with re-assays of rock chips showing grades up to 6489 parts per million.

The company said it will be releasing results in stages over the coming months and will use assays to plan further exploration next year.

“The high-grade lithium assay results from our earlier rock chip sampling programs at Tambourah South are both high-grade in nature and widespread across the western side of the tenement,” chief executive Joe Groot said.

“I am looking forward to drill testing these pegmatites during November to determine the depth extent of mineralisation below the surface and then reporting the assay results over the coming months.”

IMI’s Australian Stock Exchange-listed share price was trading at 24.5c today (10.44 am UTC+ 8 hours).
