GTI Energy drilling for uranium in Wyoming

GTI Energy have shown the uranium power of Thor, with more economic results and discovery of 1.39 miles of projected roll front trend as drilling wrapped up in Wyoming’s Great Divide Basin.

Now holding an increased total of 4.85 miles of roll front with mineralisation 100-200 feet above the host sands, the campaign confirmed belief in a viable in-situ uranium resource.

Half of the 70-hole program met both grade and grade thickness cutoff, with an average GT of 0.65, and found a new mineralised trend, with the top hole showing a lofty GT of 2.552.

Located next to the 18-million-pound Lost Creek uranium deposit and operating ISR processing plant, Thor is one of five GTI project areas in the uranium-prolific basin, standing amid a global swing towards nuclear power.

The company said results both met and exceeded expectations, especially given the newly encountered strongly mineralised trend.

“The mineralisation identified shows real potential for ISR development and we are now well positioned to deliver a maiden resource estimate report on the Thor project in Q1 of next year,” executive director Bruce Lane said.

The rig has now begun drilling on Odin, after which it will move to one of the three other GTI uranium project areas in the region.

GTR’s Australian Stock Exchange-listed share price was trading at 1.4c today (8.52 am UTC+ 8 hours).
