Charger relaunch at Medcalf

After a well-earned break for the ground team, Charger Metals have the rig spinning again at the Medcalf prospect with drilling targeting numerous spodumene-bearing pegmatites up to five metres wide at the Lake Johnson lithium project in Western Australia.

Seventeen holes were completed across the project before the holiday break, with the team now back on site and the rig fired back up for a further twenty holes testing for extensions to an 800 by 300 metre swarm of mineralised pegmatite bodies both along strike and at depth.

Pegmatites present at the project are part of the lithium-caesium-tantalum family and spodumene, the preferred mineral for commercial lithium production, has been clearly observed in many outcropping pegmatites at the prospect.

Located just down the way from the world-class 94.2 Mt @ 1.5 per cent Li2O Earl Grey deposit, Medcalf is one of Charger’s most promising prospects, with assays returning up to 7.15 per cent Li2O.

The company said drilling got off to an exciting start before the holidays, with numerous stacked pegmatites intersected in fifteen holes.

“Charger’s maiden drilling programme at the Medcalf Spodumene Prospect got off to a very encouraging start before a break for the festive season, with numerous spodumene-bearing pegmatites intersected within a 50m-wide structural zone,” managing director David Crook said.

“The first 17 holes have provided critical information about the orientation of mineralisation, and drilling has now resumed to test the 800m by 300m swarm of pegmatites both along strike and at depth.”

CHR’s Australian Stock Exchange-listed share price was trading at 42c today (10:48 am UTC+8 hours)
