Taiton Resources have a completed cultural heritage survey over Highway, receiving the final report it would not interfere with any areas of significance for a proposed work program over its flagship project resting between the Olympic Dam and Challenger mines in South Australia.

It clears the way for exploration on what is potentially a giant mineralised system.

Highway is already home to a number of very shallow IOCG and porphyry targets, and drilling is set to come in extremely cheap for the project boasting a dominant 2900 square kilometre position between renowned mineral provinces.

Conducted by the Antakirinja Matu-Yankunytjatjara Aboriginal Corporation in conjunction with Sandra Jarvis and Fraser J Vickery and accompanied by a Taiton team member, the anthropology and archaeology survey was wrapped up safely and without incident.

The company said it was a great team effort to have the ground cleared for exploration just weeks after its listing on the ASX.

“Our exploration team is currently on the ground and will be conducting mapping and surface sampling in anticipation for our IP survey and impending maiden drilling program,” managing director Noel Ong said.

“Our focus is now to complete the mapping and surface sampling within a week. This will allow the exploration team to refine our IP Survey.”

With the hard work of identifying a mineral system already done, and data showing high levels of hydrothermal activity, Taiton can now begin lifting the lid on the potentially massive amount of metals in its Highway hotpot.

Further information regarding the announcement can be found online Taiton’s investor hub.

The highway project (Red Zone) is now proven to be of the same age as the Olympic IOCG Belt. Zircon age dating has proven that the basement within the Highway project is potentially tapping the highly mineralised Olympic IOCG Belt.
