Infinity deploy ANT at Tambourah

16 February 2023 06:51

Having just been granted an additional 5-year licence extension for its Tambourah South lithium project, Infinity Mining is getting straight to work with a Satellite-based Ambient Noise Tomography survey to 3D map the West Australian Project.

The ANT survey will allow Infinity to map several lithium-caesium-tantulium-bearing pegmatites down to a depth of several hundred metres to show if the pegmatites thicken up or merge with other pegmatites.

As well as mapping known pegmatites, the mapping will reach a depth that could lead to the discovery of further pegmatites that do not break the surface, being able to identify fractionated subterranean pegmatite systems beyond those currently mapped.

Located in the renowned Pilbara region, Tambourah South has quickly risen to become one of Infinity’s most exciting projects with the uncovering of lithium and Rubidium bearing pegmatites across the project with drilling showing grades up to 2.64% Li2O, 0.66% Rb and 611ppm Cs.

ANT technology is relatively easy to deploy and due to the data being directly transmitted via satellite, it allows for processing in real-time, with models usually constructed within thirty days.

The company said that the data provided by the survey will be crucial to future drilling programs.

“Infinity is very excited about the potential of this project and is currently in the process of planning ground geophysics, further mapping and drilling to advance the hard rock Li project,” chief executive Joe Groot said.

“The ANT technique is relatively easy to deploy, data is recovered in real-time and requires no ongoing fieldwork once in place. If the technique proves useful at Tambourah South, Infinity could also deploy it at selected other tenements where cover and topography are hindering surface exploration and drill targeting.”
