Patriot Lithium Limited (ASX:PAT) has unveiled the promising results of its inaugural channel sampling program at the Gorman Project in Northwestern Ontario, Canada, situated in the “Electric Avenue” lithium district, revealing substantial potential for significant lithium mineralisation and emphasising Gorman’s status as a compelling exploration project within the lithium industry.

Continued High-Grade Results

The Phase 3 geochemistry program at the Gorman Project has now been successfully completed, featuring channel sampling of three outcrops along the G0, G1, and G2 lithium-caesium-tantalum (LCT) pegmatite trend.

The results are highly encouraging, revealing continuous high-grade mineralisation at each sample locality:

  • G0 pegmatite: 5.0 metres @ 1.7% Li2O
  • G1 pegmatite: 12.8 metres @ 1.3% Li2O
  • G2 pegmatite: 5.0 metres @ 2.0% Li2O

These findings are further reinforced by rock chip results obtained in July, demonstrating consistently high lithium oxide content, including samples with as much as 3.7% Li2O.

Expansive Lithium-Mineralised Trend

One of the standout features of the Gorman Project is the extensive 5.2-kilometre spodumene-bearing LCT pegmatite trend, encompassing the G0, G1, and G2 pegmatites.

This trend, which remains open in both northwest and southeast directions, holds immense promise for the future of the Project.

Ongoing Exploration and Expansion

The exploration efforts at Gorman are far from over. Soil samples collected at the G0, G1, and G2 pegmatites have been submitted for assaying, with results expected in the next 4-6 weeks. This data will provide further insights into the known mineralised trends and potential extensions beneath the surface.

In a strategic move, Patriot Lithium has also expanded its footprint in the region by staking 21 additional mineral claims, covering 409 hectares along the Chocolate Milk pegmatite trend, situated just 5 kilometres north of the existing LCT pegmatite trend.

This expansion aims to capitalise on the identification of a 630-metre extension through reconnaissance mapping, effectively extending the total length of the trend to over 1 kilometre.

Pink to red garnet are present in trace disseminations of highly variable grain size ranging from 0.1 – 1 cm.

Pink to red garnet are present in trace disseminations of highly variable grain size ranging from 0.1 – 1cm.

Influence of Frontier Lithium’s Success

The Gorman Project’s proximity to Frontier Lithium’s world-class PAK-Spark lithium development project is significant.

Frontier Lithium recently reported impressive drill intercepts and channel sample results, further emphasising the potential for lithium exploration in the region. This proximity adds to the allure of the Gorman Project and reinforces its position as an exciting venture in the “Electric Avenue” lithium district.

Next Steps

The future looks bright for the Gorman Project, with additional soil and rock sampling results from the Phase 3 program expected in the months.

This data will play a crucial role in refining drill targeting, with the Company currently gearing up for its maiden drill program at Gorman, with plans to commence in Q2 2024.

Patriot CEO and MD Mr Nicholas Vickery commented, “These initial channel sampling results further highlight the potential for significant lithium mineralisation at Patriot’s Gorman Project and support the impressive high-grade rock chip results already received at up to 3.7% lithium oxide.”

“Importantly, each of these samples are from separate pegmatite outcrops forming part of a large 5.2 kilometre lithium-mineralised trend, which is currently open in all directions.”

These results further confirm Gorman as an exciting exploration project with significant potential, along trend from Frontier Lithium’s world-class PAK-Spark lithium development project, in Ontario’s “Electric Avenue.”
