Evergreen Lithium (ASX:EG1) has reached a significant milestone in its exploration of its Bynoe Project, located in the Northern Territory, being granted the Aboriginal Areas Protection Authority (AAPA) Certificate.

AAPA Certification

Under the Northern Territory Aboriginal Sacred Sites Act, the AAPA is responsible for overseeing the protection of Aboriginal sacred sites on land and sea across the whole of Australia’s Northern Territory.

Receiving this certification allows the Project to progress into the next stage including exploration drilling, track related works and construction of drill pads and sumps.

The Bynoe Project has already yielded multiple large and significant lithium pegmatite targets for drill testing.

Bynoe Exploration

Evergreen Lithium conducted an extensive soil sampling program throughout 2023, and is currently awaiting the assay from 2050 samples collected.

Once received, assay data will be integrated with the Company’s existing database and used to further refine targets for drill testing.

The Company is in the process of submitting a revised Mine Management Plan (MMP), including additional proposed drilling targets based on recently completed field activities.

Evergreen has selected contractors for the maiden drill program at Bynoe, enabling drill testing to commence on previously identified targets once the MMP has been approved, subject to weather conditions.

The Next Steps

The Company plans to conduct a RAB/Aircore program on a number of target areas associated with geochemical anomalies, ANT Survey targets, and favourable geology. Additionally Evergreen intends to complete RC drilling to test priority targets at depth.

Company Comment

Evergreen Lithium’s Chairman Simon Lill commented on the milestone.

“Receipt of AAPA is a significant milestone in progressing the Bynoe project and ensuring the protection and preservation of Aboriginal sacred sites,” he said.

“With so many compelling drill targets and a drill rig on standby, we look forward to a very active and successful 2024 exploration season.”

EG1’s Australian Securities Exchange-listed share price is currently trading at $0.12 (11.00am UTC+ 8 hours).
