Coming off the back of high-grade assays retrieved from the Dolphin Tungsten Mine on King Island in Tasmania, Group 6 Metals (ASX:G6M) expects the operational excellence of its newly appointed Executive General Manager, Tony Davis, will further bolster the Project’s significance.

About the role

From April 3rd 2024, Mr. Davis will be focused on brainstorming and then implementing efficient growth opportunities regarding ore sorting, sodium tungstate and expanding reserves/resources.

However, Mr. Davis’s focus will not be limited to the Dolphin Tungsten Mine, as he also looks towards regional exploration opportunities.

Strong history

Mr. Davis’s competency is not only the result of more than 30 years of experience within the mining industry but also due to his accomplishments across those 2.5 decades.

He has led and optimised both underground and surface operations across Africa and Australia, and most recently, held a successful five-year tenure at EMR Capital’s Lubambe Copper Mine in Zambia.

Prior to his role as Director of Operations at EMR, Mr. Davis held the position of Chief Operating Officer at Kidman Resources’, assisting the company’s transition from a junior explorer to a successful producer with a market capitalisation exceeding $200 million.

Mr. Davis looks forward to the next phase of his career and hopes his invaluable skill set will help secure a long-term supply of western tungsten.

“I’m very happy to join Group 6 Metals as the Executive General Manager of Operations,” he said.

“The Dolphin Project has reached this exciting stage thanks to the incredible hard work and dedication of the entire G6M team over the past several years.”

Company comment

Group 6 Metals’ Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Keith McKnight hopes Mr. Davis will keep efficiency intact at the Dolphin Tungsten Mine once production ramps up.

“We are delighted to welcome Tony to G6M,” he said.

“His extensive experience and proven ability to deliver operational excellence will be invaluable as we ramp up production at the Dolphin Mine and execute our growth strategy.

“Tony’s appointment strengthens our leadership team and positions us well to achieve our vision of becoming a significant tungsten producer.”

G6M’s Australian Security Exchange-listed share price is currently trading at $0.068 (1:00 pm UTC+ 8 hours)
